21st Century Hotel, Shanghai - China

The new 21st Century Hotel is located in the Pudon New Area in the Pudong neighbourhood in Shanghai. The skycraper has a height of 180 meters (591 ft.) and contains 48 floors. The 21 Century Tower was designed with 5 - 9 storey "skygardens" surrounded by a glass façade and supported independent of the braced-tube structure. Trimmed with red panels the building is covered in blue and green glass with a black frit pattern. Taking advantage of the braced-tube structure, the northeast corner of the building is designed without a supporting column allowing for the open spaces of the stacked "skygardens".
