In 2000 South Danish University, Bitten and Mads Clausens Foundation and Sonderborg municipality agreed to build a unique construction, which in particular were to bridge education & research between the regional authorities and the regional business life.
In addition, the building were to be a noteworthy architectural asset for the city of Sonderborg. Today 30,000 square meters of university, office space as well as a concert hall is under construction and is expected to be completed in 2006.
