Property company Søgaard Ejendomme A/S, had seen its heating bill fall significantly in 2003 and 2004. Then in 2005, it received an extra bill for DKK 50,000. The cause turned out to be a faulty sensor and a broken control valve on the district heating side, which had stuck in the open position because of impurities. One of the effects of this fault was 5-10 degrees of cooling!
