The Danfoss motorized control valves range (MCV) for district heating is applicable for use in water and glycol-based heating and cooling systems.

The motorized control valves ensure stable and accurate control of water. This in turn improves temperature control, leading to enhanced comfort for the end-user. The motorized control valves range comprises both regular and pressure-relieved control valves operating with high differential pressure.

In energy efficiency terms, optimal performance of temperature control can lead to decreasing heat loss and therefore reduced CO2 emissions.

Good control ratios and rapid response times to changes in domestic hot water supply requirements are just some of the features needed to ensure optimum control performance.

The range of globe valves stands for progress in a number of essential areas, which meet the increasingly stricter requirements for control performance, features, compact design and price/value ratio.

The valve series is available in different materials, which fulfill the heavy-duty requirements, and is supplied with different connections. Today we are able to offer a range of seated valves for use in the above-mentioned applications.

Features and benefits

Excellent control performance in meeting the most difficult control requirements in district heating, while still providing instantaneous hot water

Easy selection, installation, commissioning and maintenance lead to cost, time and effort savings

Built-in thermic and overload protection of the electromotor radically reduces the risk of operational failure in either the valve or the system as a whole

FAQ

At the same dp over the valve, we can close the pressure relieved valve with much lower force. The real benefit is that in most cases we can offer one actuator for the whole valve range.

The rangeability of a control valve expresses how stable the control characteristic of the valve is. Rangeability is a measure of the minimum controllable flow the valve is able to handle. It is defined as the ratio of maximum controllable flow to minimum controllable flow at a constant pressure drop. The higher a control ratio of a control valve, the better the control capability of the valve.

We have this information in our data sheets where it is shown dependent on DN in a technical table for every control valve. Please follow the link below.

Special stainless steel seat and cone prevents erosion and cavitation phenomena. Seat and cone are also guided what means less vibrations and better sealing.

Soft sealing valves, also known as bubble tight valves, insure no leakage which again leads to huge energy savings. No leaking is also related to no pressure loss, meaning the pump does not have to work all the time.

Patented construction of large VF3 valves DN 200; DN 250 & DN 300 have soft sealing construction and have therefore much better sealing than less performed metal to metal valve types.
Danfoss large valve have beside of main A-AB port also soft sealed B-AB port.

We have two types of actuators. One type (AMV(E) 685) has 5,000N and another one (AMV(E) 855) 15,000N.

We are just in testing procedure to proof what we think. As mentioned above, also B port is soft sealed and therefore we need to test if soft sealing will create any problems (vacuum). However we plan to make accessory as blind flange for DN 300, screws and instructions how to make 3 port valve suitable to operate as 2 port valve.
