400 AB-QM valves installed in new mall in Vejle, Denmark
|

In the new mall “Bryggen”, covering a two-storey area of 55,000 m2 with 80 shops and car park on the roof, in the centre of Vejle, Denmark, 400 fan coil are each controlled by an AB-QM valve.
The mall is designed by the architect companies 3XN and Schmidt, Hammer and Lassen.
The mall opened in April 2008. |

Easy to set and very flexible
Both the installer Karl Jørgensen from P. Hermansen in Skanderborg, and the consultative engineer Ejner Falling from NIRAS speak highly of the new AB-QM automatic flow limiter and control valve in one.
They both find it easy to work with before, under and after completing the building.
“It is our experience that the AB-QM valve is easy to set and very flexible, which are important features in a mall like Bryggen, as the interior changes in line with the variety of shops.
If for example a need for more cooling suddenly occurs the flow is easily adapted through the valve, in that way the system is future-orientated” says Ejner Falling, head of the cooling installation.
Save time, save money
The installer Karl Jørgensen finds AB-QM easy and flexible to work with too. “We followed the presetting calculation from NIRAS and concluded that the valve was operating correctly right away". "The valve is a bit more expensive than traditional manual control valves, but I in my opinion we save money, as we save time because we do not have to set the valves subsequently”.
He is also very satisfied with the gauge equipment borrowed from Danfoss to set the valves. “The gauge equipment had two advantages: the setting took no time and we had documentation for the building owner at the same time”.

As easy as setting your watch

The Danfoss AB-QM is a control valve that provides superb control and automatic hydronic balance.
